Accessibility Statement for Institute of General Semantics

The Institute of General Semantics is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Institute of General Semantics website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Known accessibility issues

The following issues are known and are being addressed:

  • The main menu cannot be navigated to its submenu items using a keyboard.
  • The "My Account" link in the top menu cannot be reached using a keyboard.
  • The same navigation issues (main menu submenus and "My Account" link) also affect screen reader users.
  • Quick-jump links on pages trigger motion automatically and do not respect the "prefers-reduced-motion" setting.
